How to apply
Complete a Request a New Electricity Pit application through our Connect and Manage My Electricity Portal.
How long will it take?
Offer within 10 business days
Once we receive your complete application, we'll provide an offer within 10 business days. You'll then have 30 days to accept it and make the payment.
Works scheduling
After contract acceptance and payment, we’ll arrange a suitable time for the works.
Once scheduled, works are typically completed within 30 business days, although some projects may take 6–8 weeks, such as Service Tees.
Please note that council approvals, permits and compliance requirements may affect the timeframe of the works.

Costs may vary based on the amount of excavation and reinstatement requirements.

Traffic management and reinstatement
If traffic management is required, this will be included in the quoted cost. Cost may vary based on the type of traffic management required.
Project requirements
Costs are based on the requirement for new Pit or Service Tee, cable length to the connection point, the requested capacity and the number of additional dwellings.
Standard pit installation includes up to 15 metres of cable. Additional cable incur additional charges.
Prefer a turnkey option?
You may choose to engage an accredited contractor to complete eligible pit installation works on your behalf.
Under a turnkey arrangement, your contractor manages the relevant design and construction activities, while Jemena reviews and approves the works to make sure they meet our network, safety and technical requirements.
This option may give you more flexibility in choosing your contractor and managing the delivery of your project.
