Site Readiness and Requirements
To avoid delays, retailers and builders must ensure sites are ready before connection works are scheduled. This includes:
- Confirming the site is clear of obstructions (e.g. scaffolding, rubbish, portable toilets).
- Including builder and plumber contact details on all service orders.
- Uploading two site-ready photos for new builds:
- From the proposed meter location to the road.
- From the road back to the proposed meter location.
- Submitting photos by COB 20 October 2025.

Leak Test Notifications
- Leak test notifications must be submitted via MyPortal by the relevant deadline.
- Only complete and accurate submissions will be scheduled for 2025 delivery.
Submission & Connection Notes
- Connections can only be confirmed once all requirements (service orders, leak test certificates, and/or site photos) have been received.
- Jobs submitted after the deadlines will be scheduled from late January 2026.
- MyPortal applications will continue to be accepted without cut-off; however, they must meet the required timelines to be considered for 2025 delivery.
Exclusions & Delivery Considerations
Some jobs may require extended delivery times, including:
- Mains extensions
- RMS works
- End-of-year road closures
- Third-party delays
- Jemena standby works
Connections may also be delayed by wet weather, emergencies, or site issues. If a contractor attends but cannot complete the job due to site conditions, it may be postponed until late January 2026.
Escalations
- Late requirements will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
- Retailers must provide justification for exceptional circumstances.
- Standard escalation channels will apply, and direct Jemena contacts will be confirmed closer to the cut-off period.
