Jemena confirms it is responding to an incident in Lidcombe, Sydney following reports of an explosion early on the morning of Friday, 13 June 2025.
At this stage, the cause of the incident is unknown.
Currently, the site is under the control of Fire and Rescue NSW and Jemena is cooperating fully with emergency services personnel to secure the site and ensure the safety of surrounding areas.
To do this, Jemena has isolated (turned off) the gas service to the site – which has enabled emergency personnel to access it safely. At this stage, gas services remain unaffected for adjacent neighbouring properties.
Jemena will cooperate fully with any future investigation into the cause of the incident.
Jemena understands that two residents were injured as a result of the incident; we wish them a safe and speedy recovery.
