A new 66 kV line will be installed above an existing 22 kV line commencing at Patullos Lane, Craigieburn and running north along the eastern side of the Hume Highway and Hume Freeway for 8km. The line then diverts west along Kinloch Court to connect to a new substation. The new 66 kV distribution line will be carried on 25-30 metre high steel monopoles.
The line upgrade works are required to support reliable electricity supply to the Craigieburn North Employment Area, as well as residential, industrial and commercial customers through the north-west growth corridor. The upgrades will also supply electricity to a data centre which is currently under construction in the Amaroo Business Park.
Works for the Northern Growth Corridor Upgrade Project will continue through to March 2027. Key activities at each location include location and protection of utility services, drilling and preparing foundations for new poles, installation of new poles and stringing the new powerlines overhead. We will provide advance notification of these activities at each location.
