Moving Home or Premises

Need your electricity connected for move in day? Before we can switch on the lights you’ll need to sign up to an energy plan with a retailer (who manage your account and bills) they’ll then contact us to switch on your electricity on your preferred date.

Not sure who to choose? You can find a list of electricity retailers here and compare offers on the Victorian Energy Compare website

If you're moving into a property where the power has been turned off for more than 12 months, we will need a Certificate of Electrical Safety to confirm the site is safe to reconnect, which you can obtain from a qualified electrician.

If you’re moving out and need your power switched off, no problem. Just contact your energy retailer and they’ll contact us to set up a final meter read, you’ll get a final bill and the electricity will be switched off. That can be on your preferred day – even two hours after we get the word if that’s when you need it

Now that most Victorian households have smart meters, all of this can usually be done without anyone visiting your property.

As most Victorian households and businesses now have smart meters we can generally manage these works without visiting your property.
