Jemena’s infrastructure investments are complemented by an asset management business that provides services on commercial terms to companies within the Jemena group and to third parties.
Jemena Asset Management is a management and service provider to owners of electricity, gas and water infrastructure assets. These services range from multi–year contracts for a full suite of asset management planning, control room, construction, maintenance, metering, billing, back office services and corporate support services to single contracts for either construction and/or maintenance. Jemena Asset Management provides services across a range of assets including regulated and non-regulated electricity and gas distribution networks and gas transmission pipelines within Australia. The asset management business is separated into two separate business units, Asset Strategy and Infrastructure Services.
The Asset Strategy group is responsible for optimising physical asset lifecycles against the return and capital appreciation of the assets Jemena either owns, or part owns and manages. Asset Strategy is the asset steward and provides asset owners with strategic asset management services by determining and delivering long range asset management and maintenance plans.
The group provides timely delivery of these plans and associated approved specific capital projects and maintenance programs to the Infrastructure Services group for execution, while ensuring asset owners meet their regulatory and compliance obligations so that the value of, and return from, the assets is enhanced over their lifecycle. The group is also responsible for making sure Jemena responds appropriately to ongoing industry, legislative and environmental requirements.
The Infrastructure Services group is responsible for Jemena’s principal delivery businesses - electricity and gas/water, and major projects. Infrastructure Services is responsible for the safe delivery of all maintenance and capital expenditure works programs that underpin the performance of Jemena’s Asset Management contracts. This includes the delivery of work, to defined plans and standards, under contract with clients including asset owners, public and private developers.
